Procedure 1. If necessary, perform the preliminary procedure located at the beginning of these procedures to gain access for adjustments.

2. Set POWER ON/OFF switch to OFF, remove the METER (center) coaxial cable from the controller pan and measure R26 (location G6) for 5.0 kΩ±0.03 kΩ(reverse the meter leads as required to obtain the highest reading).

3. Measure across the METER (center) connector on the H.V.Box (not the controller) for 50 MΩ±0.25 MΩ (reverse the meter leads as required to obtain the highest reading).

4. Connect the function generator to the controller METER input connector and to the DVM (figure 5-1).

5. Press the Tester SOURCE VOLTAGE switch.

6. Turn the V1 ADJUST and V2 ADJUST knobs to zero.

Note If the function generator cannot be set to exactly 0.500 V rms in step 8, set it as close as possible (for example, 0.496) and verify the same digits in step 9.

8. Set the function generator to a 0.500 V rms, 50 or 60 Hz sine wave (use same frequency as ac power). Verify there is no dc offset on the sinewave by momentarily setting the DVM to dc volts, and observing a reading of 0.000 V (the last two digits may fluctuate).Return meter to ac volts.

9. Adjust R121 (Meter Gain, location G6) so that SOURCE VOLTAGE displays the same three digits as the DVM display (should be close to 5.00 kV).
